Targets- a political “get out of jail free” card. Targets have replaced “continuous review” A target is an artificial construct, a media and political device to avoid the complex reality of any and every part of existence. Neither politicians nor media hacks will admit that anything is way too complex and consists of so many constantly changing variables, for them to control. Such constantly changing variables mean that having rigid plans is a recipe for disaster, rather than admit this they invent Targets. Then claim anything and everything is subject to this simplistic artificial construct, with responsibility for reaching these abstract ambitions, down to the general population. Taxes levied, freedoms eroded, choices limited all in the name of reaching a target that is a guess based on a theory, at best and a figment of someone's imagination at worst.

My ancestors on my dad’s side grew hemp for clothes, the first American flag, shoelaces, etc. Hemp was stronger and more durable for clothes, etc. My ancestor’s hemp farms were burned to the ground by the alcohol and cotton industries because they wanted to destroy their competition. My ancestors lived long ago. Here we are in America and other countries that would give us alcohol as a medicine to kill pain. Alcohol is a death toxin to body organs. I cannot drink alcohol, cannot metabolize it. I cannot take Tylenol or Ibuprofen because all three would kill me. I have stage 2 kidney disease, 5 spinal fractures, Thalassemia, a Mediterranean anemia, and fatty liver. I use hemp for my pain. If someone asks me not to use it for pain. I offer them my 5 spinal fractures in trade with them. Funny they walked off.

Andrew Jackson, the 7th President of the United States (1829–1837), was another of our presidents who owned slaves. He has often been cited by former President Donald Trump as an inspiration, with some observers noting similarities between their leadership styles and controversial policies.
