It seems every time one racially-charged incident ends, a gender or religious controversy takes its place; Ruminate on the issues dividing our nation and world.
Kenya's President Ruto & His Dopey DP's Government Looking Like Trump & Pence Nightmare
In August 2022, William Ruto won the Kenya election, after some outcry of cheating and hacking by his rival Railia Odinga. Ruto was declared the winner by the Supreme Court of Kenya. However there was no further explanation into the 2 different figures on voting ballets, or the claims of unofficial polling stations.

I hope most Americans don’t learn about the US Constitution, and its Amendments, the way I did. My crash course in understanding my rights as an American citizen began when I was indicted for the first time in July of 2019. For the next 30 months, I struggled to reconcile what I understood my rights to be and the oppressive machine that is America’s criminal justice system.
Julia KeleherPublished about a year ago in The SwampIs It Possible To Make Conservatism Not So F@cking Awful?
From Donald Trump to Ted Cruz, modern conservatism is pretty awful, and it’s not just in the US. We could talk about the rise of far-right parties in Israel, India, Italy, and so much more. Conservatives are often trying to defend an awful status quo. We live in a world where these movements are actively harming otherized identities under the guise of protecting historic institutions that are often supremacist in nature.

Most of the world outside of the multiple countries within the Sahel Region more than likely have no idea what the Sahel Region actually is or where it's located. The Sahel separates northern Africa from western area of Africa. There are several countries within the Sahel Region as well. There are Burkina Faso, Chad, Eritrea, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, and Sudan within the Sahel.

I am so excited right now. I just found out that Donald Trump announced that he’s running for president again in 2024. I’m sure his fanbase of supporters are dancing in their trailer parks as we speak.

Nicholas BishopPublished about a year ago in The SwampCultural Appropriation and Racial Identity
Among many things, the concept of identity is soiled in history, culture and socio-economic power. As second-generation immigrants of the Western world, these aspects about ourselves begin to blur. Thrusted into a world of a different culture, history and hierarchy of power, it becomes the responsibility of society and the individual to sort themselves among these lines. But when our concepts of identity begin to blur, so do our notions of right and wrong-- specifically, our ideas of what constitute as appropriate facets of our identity. As a result, we become lost in a cycle of taking on the different cultures and identities we are exposed to, mindless of the consequences that stem from that process. Consequently, not only does one stray further away from their own cultural identity, but they manage to take on facets of cultures they have no right taking part in, perpetuating the prevalence of cultural appropriation.
Aathavi ThangesPublished about a year ago in The SwampThe media war to capture the human psyche
Renowned Austrian psychologist Sigmund Freud considered the human psyche to be at the centre of an individual’s emotions, thoughts and behaviour, controlling everything from a person’s interaction with family, friends and colleagues to beliefs about religion, education, death and all else in between.
Steve HarrisonPublished about a year ago in The SwampGhana & Ghanians Aren't Very Accepting of Anyone Who is Different
Un-welcome to Ghana a country that uses the term 'culture' to treat others badly. Colorism is at an extreme high and lighter skinned Black Americans have issues being called 'White' at every turn, as you walk through the streets they'll shout Obroni.

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the USSR, was actually just a euphemism for "Russia" in a delusional attempt at self-justification because, to my knowledge, not one of the countries making up this so-called “Union” joined willingly. Enormous threats, purges, incarcerations, torture, deportations, & genocides were employed to bring everyone into this bogus "Union."

I have a guilty pleasure. It’s looking up houses I’ll never afford. The million dollar homes, the five million pound manors, the thirty million euro estates. I’ve noticed a common thread between all of them; no taste. Often garishly ornate with gold this and crystal that, with simpering appeals to aristocracy, it’s what people think you’re supposed to like when you’re rich. New Money pretending it’s Old Money, hoping to impress someone.

The question has to be posed do people like MP Matt Hancock and Rock Star Boy George really need to appear in 'I'm A Celeb'? Boy George or George O'Dowd is the singer in one of the most successful 80s bands who still tour. The man is a multi-millionaire perhaps a billionaire who recently sold his £18 million mansion in an exclusive area of London. Plus all the money he makes from performing with Mikey Craig, and Roy Hay, aka Culture Club. John Moss seems to have departed the band a while ago.
