Dissolving Evil Empire:

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the USSR, was actually just a euphemism for "Russia" in a delusional attempt at self-justification because, to my knowledge, not one of the countries making up this so-called “Union” joined willingly. Enormous threats, purges, incarcerations, torture, deportations, & genocides were employed to bring everyone into this bogus "Union."

It was a greedy, grasping, bloodthirsty continuation of czarist Russia expanding its borders at the expense of its neighbors, just as Russia had done during its several centuries of regional terror & as it has been doing in the Black Sea region since the 1990s.

It was NOT socialism—it was a bloody, tyrannical oligarchy using barbaric repression of human rights by an unelected elite. It was, for all practical purposes, slavery & severe repression which eased only slightly in the mid-1950s when Stalin finally kicked off & Khrushchev took over. Mr. K. appeared gentle in contrast to what had transpired under the butcher Stalin. The system then switched to incarcerating in psychiatric hospitals as well as putting down internal uprisings in East Germany, Budapest, Prague, Lithuania, & everywhere else they occurred right up until the system found itself nonfunctional & dissolved in 1991.

The lofty ideals of an egalitarian socialism failed because the leaders were corrupt greedy psychopaths not interested in equality but in amassing personal godlike glory, power, & wealth. It was no different from western capitalism with the Kremlin ghouls taking the place of the parasitic corporate thugs in the West with just a different tiny elite skimming off the cream while leaving the masses struggling to survive.

WW 2 was a defensive war of The Soviets against Fascism until the Nazi surrender, but became a war of occupation when they did not return to their previous borders. The Soviet “Union” never was—it was the Soviet Empire. Much of that has been dissolved, but the Russian Empire still exists, not just in the minds of Putin & his vulture cronies, but in the reality of Chechnya & the other cultures the Russians overran & absorbed in previous times, scores of them far away enough from Moscow to ever be controlled if they all rose up at once & made their exits--like now!

At this low ebb of Russian power, it can barely sustain a war on one front in Ukraine. Russian troops are killing one another as many of them are ethnic minorities from within Russia who do not have good will amongst themselves. Unfortunately, they are turning on one another rather than uniting & sending Moscow to the hell in which it has belonged since coming into existence centuries ago.

Gorbachev was a godsend. He had opportunity thrust in his lap by Lithuania & other Soviet republics wanting out. Fortunately, unlike the present savages in Moscow, he had the wisdom to see that enough was enough, that people weren’t going to take it any longer.

Gorbachev, in retrospect can be seen as a savior by people from the Baltics to Central Asia, but Putin still thinks he’s a Russian Czar.

The Empire has not yet ceased to exist as it is showing its resurgence by invading Ukraine & hasn’t even begun to dissolve yet in many of the oppressed populations of Siberia & other parts of Russia.

Because their country has invaded its innocent neighbor Ukraine, where it continues a merciless attack bombing schools, hospitals, & other civilian areas while killing children, pregnant women, the elderly, & torturing them when it’s convenient, many honorable Russians are fleeing their country because of the injustices it is perpetrating & because they don’t want to become its next victims or cannon fodder. Many are now in prison or in some new Gulag for having protested or even expressed the truth that the country was waging “war”, a term which was banned by Putin’s thought police.

In a sense, Russia is going through another purge, clearing out its soundest minds & most respectable citizens. This will become the greatest brain drain any country has experienced in recent decades. Genetically, the Russians from generation to generation are devolving to a pile of sawdust rather than the literary & musical talents that they once were.

I myself suffered as a child growing up without extended family because of Russia’s occupations following World War 2. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins were a fiction I could hardly imagine. I didn’t even know what relatives I had until I came to a free Lithuania for the 1st time in 1992 where I still found an aunt, an uncle, the wives of 3 uncles, & 18 1st cousins still alive along with scores of their offspring. A recent family reunion of just my mom’s folks brought together over 100 people.

The Russians should be groveling on bloody knees, begging for forgiveness for what their parents & grandparents did to Europe, the Jews, & central Asia since their bloody appearance. The repressing, deporting, torturing, & killing, much but only a small part of it under Stalin, is once again destroying the spirit of a continent which was only beginning to heal from the most hate-filled & repressive regime in the history of the world, though it runs neck-&-neck with the greedy & pervasively violent U$ which came into existence through genocide & built its economy 1st on slavery & then on the backs of wave after wave of naïve & desperate immigrants, many, like my family, fleeing foreign occupation, war, & famine.

Putin is Stalin’s psychopathic twin &, unfortunately, may be too stupid & narcissistic to stop without taking the whole world into nuclear hell. Who he is & what his nation stands for can be readily seen by looking at what is still happening in & around the Black Sea, not just in Ukraine but in the Caucasian region as well.

There was little agreement between what Ronald Reagan said & what I believed, but one thing about which he was dead right is the former Soviet Union--it was the Evil Empire & Russia still is. Reagan, however, overlooked the fact that he was heading the Other equally bloody & Evil Empire. China was still somewhat of a 2nd or 3rd rate power, but thanks to the idiocy & spendthrift lifestyles of the West, especially the U$, China has become an economic powerhouse which is using its new wealth to expand its influence by buying off the poor countries around the globe.

Russia has no conscience, no morals, no sense of responsibility. With never any consideration of restitution to the 10s of millions of people it murdered, tortured, deported, persecuted, & caused to flee for their lives, it still flaunts & flexes its might against tiny minorities like the Chechens who have been the objects of Russian terror for more than 100 years. Now Russia is destroying Ukraine &, hopefully, itself in the process.

Putin has so whipped up Russian xenophobia & nationalism that simple-minded Russian nationalists call for reassertion of their power & rule over all former Soviet territories. This could, presumably include Alaska.

Every political & economic measure must be taken to dissolve what is left of the former Russian Empire. Considering what happened in Chechnya, little question should remain what Russia will do with any ethnic minority which attempts to reestablish home rule. No European nation, whether once part of those brutal regimes or not, can rest secure with unpredictably intermittent saber-rattling & nationalism pouring out of Moscow & the braindead unconscionable leadership in the Kremlin.

Putin’s legacy will be not only assuring Russia another strong perpetual neighboring enemy along its border in Ukraine but also the memory & guilt for the degenerate nature of the assault—bombing schools & hospitals, raping, torturing, & other war crimes. The trauma will engulf generation after generation not just of the victim Ukrainians but maybe even more so those of the invading Russians, just as we see the descendants of the German Nazis still haunted by no rational grasp of why their ancestors did what they did during World War 2.
