The 12th Amendment
The 12th Amendment to the United States Constitution was first developed on December 9th, 1803, and was thereafter ratified on June 15th, 1804, because it provided new legislation for electing the President and Vice President. Currently, the Electoral College is being reevaluated as a useful part of our government since before the Electoral College was put together, each member cast a single vote. The amendment states that the Electors shall meet in their respective states so as to vote by ballot for President and Vice-President. There is a new consideration given to the fact that the Electoral College must vote a president into office by having 270 votes.
Iria Vasquez-PaezPublished 5 years ago in The SwampReason First: Is the Black Woman Still a Target in the World?
It doesn’t take an alleged white supremacist to violate the rights of another black woman, this time a senior citizen abused by a black male. While the videographers continued to capture the brief, lopsided melee, the assailant continued to punch, kick, and stomp the victim. Completely defenseless, the woman sustained bruises and cuts to her face. The question of whether black women are targets surfaces yet again. With all of the onlookers witnessing this brutal attack, no one decided to come to the woman’s aid. As everyone saw this viciousness, the thought to allow someone to record just the attacker's face while others could have rescued the 78-year-old woman from being beaten. Hatred of self remains at the crux of these attacks. The black male that committed this crime is no better than an assailant of any other race or nationality.

Dear Prime Minister, Thank You, as a Muslim, as a female, and as a human being. You have shown me that you are honourable, compassionate and brave. March 15, 2019 is a day that will be remembered by many around the world. We lost 50 innocent lives that day. You stood with the Muslims, you didn’t let us feel alone, you called this incident what it was, a terrorist attack.
Why Hate Speech Cannot Exist in America
As a teenager in a public school in California, I am constantly surrounded by leftist opinions. With my conservative views, I can find it quite frustrating when people are spouting their opinions with no facts to back them up.
Eliza WhitePublished 5 years ago in The SwampReason First: Is the Black Woman a Target in the World?
The fury of the alleged white supremacist man is a thirst, that may never be quenched. For Austin Shuffield, the man charged with aggravated assault, interference with a 911 call, and public intoxication, against a twenty four-year-old woman of color, L'Daijohnique Lee, the advent of mobile devices recording his moves, including uppercuts and jabs stood against him. All of this activity shows how something as small as blocking an exit can lead to acts of the initiation of physical force.

March 6th of this year I turned 27, I pay my own bills, and I have two kids. I am, by definition, an adult. So are many people who are now weighing in on hundreds of teenagers throughout several countries who staged a walkout this week against climate change.
Misha AlslebenPublished 5 years ago in The SwampFeelings Trump Death
In the planning stages, this was going to be a satirical article about Donald Trump and how Senator John McCain hurt his feelings. Yet, during the course of research, it became evident that the premise of the article was real and true. In a press conference, Trump admitted that his continued attacks on the beloved, late senator are because McCain hurt his feelings and 'betrayed' him. It's like an article from The Onion has come to life and running the country or pretending to.

Talking with Andrew Yang, Our Best Hope for 2020
The 2020 Democratic Primaries are currently crawling with candidates hoping to face off against Donald Trump for the presidential bid, but one candidate stands out among the crowd, lurking in the background, and he won't be for long.
Hannah SmartPublished 5 years ago in The Swamp Elizabeth Warren 2020?
Some may know Elizabeth Warren from her comments that she claimed to have Native American Ancestry, and the flack from the Cherokee Nation, Trump, and minorities in her claiming to be Native American herself. This could spiral into a place where we accuse Warren of trying to gain credibility, appropriating, or taking the place of true Native Americans from an opportunity to work at an Ivy League University like Harvard. Although Warren has slipped on her past (like many of the 12 other candidates running for office) I find that if we focus on Warren's ideals and her plan to fix Trump's mess (and history's mess), that Elizabeth Warren may be able to become the next President in the 2020 Democratic Election. Personally, I am in between Sanders, Harris, and Warren for 2020 but, I have to look into them more. Here is my take on the case for Warren in the 2020 Election:
SAYHERNAME Morgan SankofaPublished 5 years ago in The SwampThat's Racist
Recently the actor Orlando Jones, who plays Mr. Nancy on American Gods, posted a video on his Instagram. The video shows a white woman, Corinne Terrone, screaming racial slurs at a black man, named Eric. There was something he said in his caption that stuck out to me. "The issue is my white friends think they know more about racism than me... they know more about something they've never experienced than I do and we can't discuss how that's racist without them losing their minds."
Catherine AgatiPublished 5 years ago in The SwampA Look Back at the Horace Greeley Activism of Charlotte Bilski
A recounting of Charlotte Bilski and all her good work in Westchester... It's not hard to see. Too often, the world just isn't right. People still struggling in an earthquake's aftermath, Westchester County cutting crucial funds to childcare, and kids mired in unhealthy peer relationships. Just the short list seems overwhelming and the change we'd all like to see leaves us too far removed from the people who run things. Chappaqua, New York's Charlotte Bilski of Horace Greeley High School and the Westchester Youth Council doesn't see it that way. She believes true activism emanates from a much smaller constituency.

Opening Argument: politics is show business for ugly people. In Support: President Trump (Apprentice US), Sir Alan Sugar, businessman, and current member of House of Lords (Apprentice UK). Further Support—these so called politicians are living the superstar life without a) gaining plus 150 pounds for a role, b) an ‘ugly’ prosthetic or c) any wig of any sort—they have it all, all naturally, and my god, they flaunt it. These lawmakers are the living the good life, like a rapper taking a private jet to Coachella.
