Half of the global population already lives in cities – by 2050 two thirds of the world's people are expected to live in urban areas. The global population is at 7.2 billion, it is growing by 1billion every 12 years. By 2050 there should be 10 billion souls on this planet and the equivalent of nearly the current world population will be in urban areas with a need to be housed, nourished and have transport.
Work and Pensions Secretary, Therese Coffey: Bracing For a Large Number of Unemployed.
Therese Coffey became the DWP Secretary under Boris Johnson when he became UK Prime Minister. Of all the jobs to do in the cabinet, it is in many ways, like drinking a poison chalice. In that job, you oversee, one of the biggest departments in government.

The country is waking up this morning to the news that President Trump and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19. As the White House scrambles to determine who all has been exposed, and candidate VP Joe Biden gets tested after sharing the stage with Trump during the debate, what we may see in the coming weeks will likely be a spotlight on the disparity of healthcare between the classes in this country!

Many Americans on Tuesday, after months of being clogged by the COVID-19, tired after a long summer of rapidly spreading wildfires and social equality protests, enduring mass joblessness, and becoming very pessimistic about government from long stretches of toxic political talk turned people turned TVs on to hear what the two men competing for the country's most noteworthy office had to say for themselves.

I find it fascinating that some people don’t understand gentrification as of 2020. I have had a few conversations recently, all leading me to say the same sentence: That’s called gentrification. They all seem confused when I say it.

The fallen hero who put his life on the line to make a change Dedan Kimathi. The unforgotten Kenyan hero. And slowly he is becoming a shadow in the past. With the changes in the generations, Dedan Kimathi is slowly fading into oblivion. Yet Kenya’s independence owes so much to this hero among others in his local brigade. The celebration of Kenya’s independence will not be complete without the mention of the likes of Dedan Kimathi Waciuri, born in October 1920.
Natural Track SafarisPublished 4 years ago in The SwampDear Mr. President
For 3 plus years, Mr. President, I truly have wanted to like and admire you. Truly. I have tried, I give you credit for doing good things, but that shit show dumpster fire of a debate tonight was silly. Poor Chris Wallace, imagine how defeated and dejected he had to feel leaving that arena. How could he not? I feel he fully deserves to get hammered on his plane ride home. God Bless him for staying with it and making it through that debacle. You were far worse than our former VP. I did cheer when he told you point blank you are interrupting far more than ole Joey. Us Democrats were giving virtual high fiveseft and right

We don’t accept candy from a stranger, but we will believe anyone with a microphone, every post on Facebook, each printed article, and the guy in the grocery story line.
Brenda MahlerPublished 4 years ago in The SwampTrump supporters please take the blinders off
One of the saddest things that I have been witnessing lately is how low Donald Trump’s supporters are sinking. They have listened to his rhetoric so long that they have become robots who record and play back the Trump sound. There are some who have expressed outrage at recent revelations but the hardcore base is working overtime in attempts to paint him in a better light. Donald Trump is guilty of tax fraud which is a federal crime punishable with jail time. His supporters are pointing out that he does not keep his salary for being the president. Some have said that Biden became rich while working in the government. Neither of these statements have anything to do with the fact that the Donald has broken the law.

As you've all likely heard by this point, a grand jury has decided against bringing charges against the officers responsible for the shooting death of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor. Of the officers involved (Brett Hankison, Jonathan Mattingly, and Myles Cosgrove), only Hankison will be facing charges--and those charges are limited to first-degree wanton endangerment for the bullets that went into the neighboring apartment. In other words, none of the officers involved in Taylor's death will be facing homicide charges. With this tragedy being only one of a number of police-related homicides against Black individuals (other victims include George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery), this unbelievably lenient decision has sparked plenty of outrage.
Trevor WellsPublished 4 years ago in The SwampTakeaways From The First Presidential Debate
In the days and week building up to the first presidential debate, there was a lot of anticipation and speculation. The level of excitement over the expected fireworks was huge. And while the fireworks did fly, the overall impression many voters had was that it was a complete train wreck.
Voting Rights: Things May Not Know
Criminal Voting Rights: At one point, in time, voting, and the party you support, people did not openly speak. However, since we are entering one of the most critical elections of our time, its time to be educated on what can and can not do. There is much information that people do not know about voting. **These rules are specific to the State of Colorado. Our suggest that you look into what your state’s rights to vote are.**
