When the outcry is loud and no body listens until it is in their own backyard with those they actually consider to be their own.

The message across is we are not welcomed in a place we did not choose

The message across is interracial relationships are hated

The message across is if you're mixed you're an abomination unless you're white passing

And if you're dead it'll look like an accident or self inflicted because why would anyone care when no body wants you to exist

And I can't imagine what it is like to grow up without the right to vote and being old enough to remember being chased, gaining the right to vote but still not seen to be a person

Being old enough to be targeted no matter where you go and learning the hard way that it's dressed differently in each state

Seeing what you hope was change literally half of your life from the 1950's to today

And slowly watch everything fade away

And your childhood to make a come back like a trendy TikTok dance

You want to travel and enjoy retirement freely

But your nerves are kind of getting to you especially when you are the only of you where you stand and move

So you share everything and try to convince yourself that you're not nervous

That you're not scared

Because believing your old upbringing has been waiting to bang on your door since you thought it was put away

The system only slightly changed tactics but nothing really changed at all

The privileges of being human it seems are not for us at all

Sundown towns all over so travel mindfully

Try not to talk about politics too blindly

Send pictures, post pictures, send text messages if feeling uneasy

Create a digital trail of cell phone towers so your body can be identified

To prepare for, if it happens someone can't lie

And out rage could pour and hopefully help would be on the way with justice

Enjoy your travels just be safe, I dont want to have to add you to that list
