Dear Donald Trump: Don't Kick Puerto Rico While It's Down
Mr. Trump: I'm not an American, nor do I claim to be. I'm not someone who is hugely political, and many times, I'm not a big fan of the leadership of my own country, let alone someone else's.

Dear Donald, Why So Sovereign?
Dear Donald, I'm writing you to discuss the speech you gave in front the United Nations General Assembly. I'm not too pleased with what I heard from you, and many others aren't either.
Chelsea KendrickPublished 7 years ago in The Swamp Dear Donald, You Remind Me Of My Cult Leader
Dear Donald, You remind me of the cult leaders I used to work for and I must credit you with at least one thing--you are an expert at exploiting the fear of being wrong. It's brilliantly evil. You are unaware of this, but you have empowered scary people that hide in a sparkly house tucked neatly away in a perfectly groomed neighborhood with a religious following and a million bucks in their bank account.

Dear Donald Trump, When I grew up, the people around me taught me lifelong values that I still hold dear to this day. My parents mostly, with large contributions from extended family and friends I've met throughout my life. These morals I learned, these values, I now hold every person I come across to those same ones. My every judgement is passed based on them, and for the longest time, I never thought I'd stumble across someone who'd disagree. If anything, I thought everyone understood the same basic values.
Donald Drumpf and the Lesson in Irony
Dear Donald, I’ve been meaning to ask — do you actually have any advisors on staff at the White House? I only ask because — if you do — frankly, I’d consider using them every now and again. Not for anything important like deciding which group of people to discriminate against or in which order — I assume that choice is made arbitrarily by throwing darts at a specially-manufactured board. But maybe you should let them try out something small, like explaining IRONY to you. And here’s a freebie, Donald — irony is not the metallic compound that is processed to make steel. Just in case you get confused and brand me a terrorist and send me off for a nice vacation at Gitmo…

Dear #45, It’s hard to choose the words to communicate with you. I don’t have any comparable person in my life as an example to gauge how to proceed. Because, unlike you, the majority of people I know and routinely interact with are kind and moral. They have a sense of right and wrong, they have empathy and a conscience too.

Mr. Trump; There's a few things on my mind this morning, and while for once I'm not deeply concerned about your bigotry, your hateful rhetoric, or your questionable policies, I am still somewhat concerned.

President Trump, First, thank you for running and taking on the enormous undertaking of MAGA. Recently, as talk grew about the large Powerball jackpot, I began to think what could be done with that kind of jackpot... like many others for sure. As a former term limited legislator here in Montana, I have some experience on how difficult the legislative process can be to navigate. Getting comprehensive legislation passed... well Congress has proven lately that is nearly impossible. The dynamics are so complex and fluid that even the most desired public interests cannot be achieved. While I could point to many different failures and problems America faces, I think one need only look at our debt to realize congress is part of our problems.
Daniel FuchsPublished 7 years ago in The SwampDear Donald, How Are You Helping Americans?
Dear Donald, Since you've become president in January of 2017, you have turned our nation upside down. You have managed to destroy everything that Obama put into place and made our country a laughing stock. In your eyes, you obviously feel that you're one of the best presidents to lead America. However, you are an utter embarrassment and have made our country look extremely uneducated.
Jessica HerringPublished 7 years ago in The SwampDear Donald, Are You Making America Great Again?
When you were nominated to be the Republican candidate for the 2016 Presidential race, I was sure that Hillary had won. You were loud, obnoxious, rude and inexperienced. You didn't have a clear platform to stand on. It seemed that you could talk your way out of every question. Every diversion led back to one theme though, that while you didn't have exact plans for how you were going to "Make America Great Again". Well, Mr. Trump, it has been almost eight months since you have become the President of the United States. You sure have done a lot of things, but make America great again? I'm not sure that's one of them.

Watching the events in Charlottesville unfold, I've been trying to collect my thoughts. To try and say something worthwhile about the whole mess, even before someone decided to use their car to ram through a crowd of protesters. That it's come to this, in 2017 America, simply boggled my mind.
Matthew KresalPublished 7 years ago in The SwampDear Donald: You Clever Son of a Gun, You...
As a Communications graduate student, I have learned the ins and outs of Media, and how impressionable it can be on masses. Of the many lessons I've learned throughout my educational journey, one essential ideology has always stuck with me. It comes from researchers Max McCombs and Donald Shaw who conducted a study in 1968 to determine the salience of the media's influence on the public. From the foundation of the researcher's work, Bernard Cohen assisted in the development of 'agenda-setting theory,' which recognized that:
