  2. Shoutout a Vocal creator you recommend reading. Include the URL of a writer or story that inspired you and why.
  3. If you like a story another person has recommended, send that story's creator a like, leave a comment, and/or subscribe to them.

Please follow Vocal’s Community Guidelines and don’t spam your own profile or stories in the thread. We encourage the community to report users or comments that break these guidelines.

Also, make sure you join our Vocal Community Chat every Tuesday at 12PM ET to discuss insights and platform updates.

We'll start the thread:

Our curation team loves Brenton F's poem, "Onlyfans Poet," for its witty and provocative nature. The poet's clever commentary explores the culture of self-promotion and the commodification of writing. It is funny and engaging, and ripe with innuendos that challenge the reader's assumptions about creativity and capitalism. The poem also speaks to the struggles of the creative process, making it relatable to anyone who has tried to write. Brenton F's poetry is distinctly all his own, has great range, and we highly recommend checking out his work if you don't mind a few expletives.

Now it's your turn. Share your favorite stories in the comments below.

Although he doesn’t post often enough, I love the works of Ken S, simple yet heartfelt for the one he loves. This is one of my favorites https://vocal.media/poets/something-about-her-2ue88r08p0

I always enjoy the work of Cathy Holmes, and she's one of the most active supporters I know. Check out this new one: https://vocal.media/poets/dear-broken-branch

Wow, what a surprise! With so many brilliant (yes that word gets used a lot here) writers on Vocal I am humbled and honoured to be counted as a peer! I have so many favourites, to list them all would be to leave some out. Thank you so much!

I'm here to give a shout out to an amazing talent who has been more supportive than anyone to me. https://vocal.media/horror/meloetta-s-jealousy by Dharrsheena Raja Segarran

It's time to give a shout out to Scott Wade, in case he hasn't already been mentioned. Not only is he an incredibly talented writer, he's one of the most supportive people I've encountered on Vocal. Oh, and he wears a hat and a beard, so there's that. Enjoy his creations here: https://vocal.media/authors/scott-wade

Hi, my name is Zuleika. I started writing about anime, then went to beauty, and now romance stories. Currently, I'm doing all three.

I also want to call attention to the work of Naomi Gold. Elegant, bold, unapologetic and eloquent are just a few of the terms that fit her writing and her page offers everything from playlists to poetry. Check it out here: https://vocal.media/authors/naomi-gold

I'm very far behind on posting to this thread and there are many writers I want to recognize as time allows. In honor of Earth Day tomorrow, I want to encourage everyone to check out Kristen Balyeat's amazing piece here: https://vocal.media/earth/earth-day-thanksgiving-address-ohen-ton-karihwatehkwen

I'd like to recommend Mariann Carroll, a prolific writer across a range of Vocal communities. Her unique free-ranging approach to science fiction has always particularly impressed me, as has her distinctive authorial voice. Mariann is a highly active and supportive Vocal member, often the very first to comment on a new story, and I greatly appreciate the interest she's taken in my own work. I'm sure many of our other authors can say the same. Here's "Time Never Stop Love," the first of Mariann's stories I read: https://vocal.media/fiction/time-never-stop-love

  • Grz Colmabout a month ago

I’m Grz Colm, I usually write free verse poetry and film reviews. I recently loved Novel’s thoughtful and almost meditative piece on “Itadakimasu”. You can check it out below. A terrific message. ☺️ https://vocal.media/humans/itadakimasu-j5iw05f0

I love that this story has its own soundtrack. A lot of fun. Really atmospheric. https://vocal.media/horror/the-piano-lesson

  • Brannan K.about a month ago

Zack Graham got me put of my uncreative slump and motivated me to write again by introducing me to Vocal and his stories. Zack writes some astounding, unpredictable cosmic horror! Check out his story https://vocal.media/horror/the-widow-s-call

  • J.M. Powellabout a month ago

I enjoy writing love and inspirational poems and stories. Here's a story from two years ago that won the little black book challenge. I like it because I have minor OCD that impacts my life enough to understand the emotions described in the piece. https://vocal.media/families/the-delicate-art-of-counting-to-three

  • C. H. Richardabout a month ago

This is my last one promise. This story from Dan's Stewart for Time Traveller Challenge was a great thrill ride. If you are a fan of the podcast about the Isabella Stewart Gardner heist as I am, you will enjoy https://vocal.media/fiction/tattooed-mona-lisa

I know I mentioned ARC first round, but I thought I’d share this motivational article/collaborative interactive piece he recently did. Very cool introspective exercise: https://vocal.media/motivation/self-reflection-y82po0kjs#comment-d1f8b818-77ee-4ed0-83d1-e49eaa9ee70c

Check out the amazing work of Em Starr- I love her writing! She always conjures such vivid imagery and has such a distinct style. Each piece I’ve read of hers has kept me totally engaged from opening line to the last word. Her entry for the Sky challenge was…Wow! Enjoy! https://vocal.media/fiction/and-still-i-fly

So just one more from me for today. This poem by Caroline Jane is extraordinary and resonated with me about taking chances https://vocal.media/poets/to-all-that-you-are-from-all-that-you-made-me Thank you Vocal I appreciate the opportunity to share ❤️

  • Lena Borondiaabout a month ago

Hey all! I'm Lena, and I write mostly poetry and fiction. While still an admin for several Vocal Facebook groups, I've been out of the loop for a while due to life's constant punches, but I'm still reading your awesome stories on the DL. I'd like to highlight a creator who has got to be one of the most talented writers on Vocal or anywhere. I love all of his poetry and fiction, but this poem has stuck with me as a wonderful and rare tribute to the strength of women, and to be written so wonderfully by a male... Beautiful! Give Conor Darral some love for this stunner!!! <3 https://vocal.media/poets/daisy-bricks

  • JBazabout a month ago

I am known as JBaz on Vocal. There is a writer who is known t but I feel is still underrated. Her works are powerful and expertly written: Ally North. This piece is brilliant https://vocal.media/poets/joshua-xsnf09ei

This poem by Lamar Wiggins is just extraordinary about the pain infidelity causes https://vocal.media/authors/lamar-wiggins

  • Judey Kalchik about a month ago

EJ Arundel hasn't written for a while but I'd love to see her write again, knowing Vocal is a safe place for those in the Trans community. https://vocal.media/poets/colors-from-the-shadows

Julie O'Hara wrote a poem about bullying that is real, honest, and rings so true to me. I'd love it to get more exposure. https://vocal.media/poets/legacy-w2690v1w
