trauma
At its core, trauma can be thought of as the psychological wounds that persist, even when the physical ones are long gone.
Notes from the Mind Palace.
There is a unique brand of madness in choosing a career where your primary tools are the exact things your brain is wired to reject. To spend your whole life knowing you are a writer—carrying a roaring furnace of stories, cinematic images, and sharp dialogue inside your mental fortress—while fighting a daily battle against dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD is an exhausting exercise in stubbornness.

Recurrence or "Over-Reaction"
The world of Cancer testing has improved since the last update. There is a test called Signatera , which is a blood test that looks for cancer cells that are related to hormone-hungry cancers, such as mine. You get tested every three months. The first time was in January or February. My memory is a little hazy on this part. It showed it was fine. No residual cancer. The second time I got it, I think it was in July, and they saw an increase of 0.07% in hormonal tumor DNA. My new oncologist is far better and more amazing than the shit for brains at the UT Hospital (This can be discussed privately). She really wants to be proactive about this because I have a repeatable history of being cancer-free for a year and then being sucked right back into the monster's mouth.

It can never be justified.
The shape of the world right now often makes me feel like I'm living in a fucking nightmare. Not just because there are bad things happening, though that's never great to hear, or because there are so many natural and man made disasters I keep wondering what day I'll wake up and just hear the news that we only have a limited amount of days left on earth. No, what has really fucked with my psyche for the last few days has been the Cornell 57 group chat event. Calling it an event might minimize the significance of what it actually is, so i apologize for that, but for those who are unaware, recently, a Jane Doe came out and announced that she had been raped by seven students at Cornell University, and as punishment, all the boys had to do was write an essay about it. They weren't expelled, or jailed, or anything that would have been appropriate about their behaviour, they were just let off the god damn hook. Naturally, rape is a very serious crime, and anyone, male or female is capable of the act, but hearing about this made me furious for the women in my life. I've been blessed with many amazing people who have made my life better in every way imaginable, and without them, I have no earthly clue what kind of person I would be today. But hearing about this case made me feel the anger and sorrow of women who have gone through cases like this. Where they've been used, used for someone else's pleasure and then discarded as if they are useless after that vile act. I think about not only them, I think about a Jane Doe that I know personally. This story is for them.

My Hidden Memory Library
I want to be a child again. Maybe that isn’t the exact way to phrase it, but is there ever really a time when someone doesn't want to go back into the comforting, naive nature of childhood? Wouldn't it be sacred to return to the sweet embrace of a mother not yet burnt, a brother not yet ill, a child not yet mourned?
