Don't overdo it when showcasing your talents in an effort to satisfy and impress others; otherwise, you risk doing the exact opposite and instilling uneasiness and anxiety.

Anyone can feel insecure. When you present yourself to others and When you showcase your abilities, you inadvertently arouse various forms of animosity, envy, and insecurity. This should be anticipated. You can't live your entire life thinking about other people's trivial concerns. But you have to deal with people above you differently. Outshining the master when it comes to power is arguably the biggest error of all. You will rise to the pinnacles of power if you can make your bosses appear smarter than they actually are.

If your concepts are more original than those of your teacher, credit him as openly as you can. Make it apparent that your suggestions are essentially a repetition of his. If you are wittier than your boss, you may

Play the court jester, but don't make him look icy and prickly in contrast. Be careful not to be the cloud that hides your master's light from others if you are by nature more outgoing and giving than your master.

He must project strength and brilliance, be the centre of attention, and appear to be the sun around whom everyone orbits.

Galileo, like many Renaissance scientists, relied on the generosity of powerful kings to fund his work. No matter how important the discovery, though, his clients typically compensated him with presents rather than money. This led to a life of ongoing dependence and insecurity. When he learned about Jupiter's moons in 1610, he devised a new plan of action. Galileo celebrated the magnificence of the Medicis by making his discovery into a cosmic occasion. Galileo was appointed as the official court philosopher and mathematician by the Medicis, receiving a full salary.

The whims of patronage and court life do not spare scientists. They too are subject to the same ruling class.

Their impressive intellectual prowess might also give the master the impression that his only role is to provide the money, an unattractive and demeaning task. A great work's producer wants to feel that he is more than just the financier. He aspires to come across as powerful, innovative, and more significant than the work done under his name. You need to exalt him, not be insecure. By actually aligning the Medicis with the stars, Galileo made them shine brilliantly among the Italian courts without undermining their intellectual dominance or making them feel inferior in any way. Instead of outshining the master, he helped the master shine brighter than anybody else.

Know when it serves your interests to share the credit with others. Being selfless is especially vital when you have a master above you. Henry Kissinger's skillful diplomacy saved President Richard Nixon's historic trip to the People's Republic of China, which was initially his idea. It also wouldn't have been as effective without Kissinger's expertise. However, Kissinger shrewdly let Nixon have the majority of the credit when it came time to claim credit. He was careful not to jeopardise his reputation in the short term by hogging the limelight since he knew that the truth would surface eventually.

Kissinger played the game expertly: He took credit for the work of those below him while graciously giving credit for his own labors to those above. That is the way to play the game.
