This video is by far the worst rhetoric about mental illness I've ever watched

The fact that this is stamped by BET and the title of the TikTok account is 'thewellness1' is embarrassing. I truly hope that the family of those who've completed suicide can start filing lawsuits against media outlets that spread false information about mental health.
This video posted on TikTok stamped by BET (Black Entertainment Television) is the most disgusting part. In this video 50 cent who is talking about selling drugs with depression, which is the first of many red flags. Sadly there are Black Americans that will listen to his “advice”.
In the video 50 goes on a rant calling depression a luxury & expensive, saying how he a multimillionaire can’t afford depression. He then goes onto say, “you mean to tell me you didn’t sell a pack because you was depressed, gimmie my pack back!”
He's speaking about being a drug dealer by the way which should be a red flag to not listen to this man.
He starts out by saying, “depression is a luxury!”, this man makes me sick to my stomach when he talks about anything but his music.
People will listen to whatever he says and think that being rich makes him some sort of expert on anything but making money.
The statistics on suicide within the African continent and the Black American community is staggering. While suicides in Africa are on the wise but mental health professionals are not, there are some areas without any mental health clinicians.
These Are the 10 Countries With the Highest Suicide Rates
10. Central African Republic, Suicide Rate: 22.96 per 100,000 people (Africa)

Mental and Behavioral Health - African Americans
What is Mental and Behavioral Health?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Behavioral health has more to do with the specific actions people take. It is about how people respond in various scenarios. Behavioral health can be influenced by an individual’s mental health.
How Does Mental and Behavioral Health Affect African American Populations?
In 2020, suicide was the third leading cause of death, respectively, for blacks or African Americans, ages 15 to 24.1
The death rate from suicide for black or African American men was four times greater than for African American women, in 2018.
The overall suicide rate for black or African Americans was 60 percent lower than that of the non-Hispanic white population, in 2018.
Black females, grades 9-12, were 60 percent more likely to attempt suicide in 2019, as compared to non-Hispanic white females of the same age.
Poverty level affects mental health status. Black or African Americans living below the poverty level, as compared to those over twice the poverty level, are twice as likely to report serious psychological distress.
A report from the U.S. Surgeon General found that from 1980 - 1995, the suicide rate among African Americans ages 10 to 14 increased 233 percentage, as compared to 120 percent of non-Hispanic whites.2

From the comments under the video people seem to think that mental health, depression are just simple issues. It's 2023 and people actually take mental health as a joke or a punchline to a joke. While people especially Blacks are dying by suicide and murder due to mental illness.
