and what it is used for

Coherence is a concept we come across when we become interested in psychology. It means the ability to adapt to the changes that await us. The higher the sense of coherence, the more confident we feel. Thanks to this, changes will not surprise us and we will approach them in a prudent and rational way. Coherence has a strong relationship with our health, well-being and mental comfort. It can also mean how we deal with stress and how we perceive it. As you know, in our lives there are many different events and experiences, and some of them are unpleasant and negative (e.g. sudden job loss, serious illness, violence, assaults, burglaries, etc.). Everything will be decided by our individual predispositions, so it's worth leaning over them a bit.

As already mentioned, the sense of coherence can affect how we perceive stress. Some will experience this and significantly worsen their well-being, which will translate into, among others, to the development of illnesses, and others will treat it as a motivation to continue and introduce various changes. A high sense of coherence will lead to the fact that we will be able to deal with negative experiences and experiences faster, and in addition we will be able to draw the right conclusions from them. We will not stay put and we will strive to become happy, resourceful and confident people.

The discussed coherence consists of three components. Here we highlight:

intelligibility - it means that all stimuli that we receive from the outside (from the environment) are transparent, legible and absolutely understandable for us. If we know what exactly we are facing and what obstacles we have to overcome, there is a greater probability that we will come out of this "fight" victorious. The high level of comprehensibility is manifested by the fact that even new and difficult situations will not be a problem for us. They will become challenges

meaningfulness – the second component of coherence. In this case, we are talking about whether a person realizes that his life is valuable and full of meaning, and that his efforts will be successful. If we are characterized by a high level of meaningfulness, we will be happy to take new actions and we will not lack motivation. In turn, a low level will lead to the fact that we will not want to leave the house and the multitude of problems will simply overwhelm us,

resourcefulness - it is the ability to use the available resources that we can find in our immediate environment. Thanks to this, we will find ourselves in every situation and solve all possible problems. A high level of resourcefulness means that a person knows how to use these resources and increases their chances of a positive settlement of the matter, while a low one often gives up and does not make much effort.

As you can see, coherence is a rather complicated concept, which is worth taking a little time to understand in one hundred percent. By analyzing the above-mentioned components, we can easily apply all this to our lives. In this way, we will see how we deal with difficult situations and stress. We can talk about it with specialists from the world of psychology and psychotherapy, but also with family and close friends.

Let's consider how coherence affects our health and well-being. Of course, it will be difficult for us to determine it clearly, but perhaps we will be able to draw valuable conclusions from the information presented.

A high sense of coherence allows us to avoid many diseases, including somatic diseases, neurosis, anxiety and panic attacks or mental disorders. Any situation can be stressful, but the most important thing is not to break down and try to find a solution. The worst thing we can do at this point is to give up without any fight. People with a low sense of coherence do this.

Coherent people cope well with stress, are able to work under time pressure and in a group, do not feel excessive mental discomfort, do not resort to stimulants and are able to find themselves in the most difficult situations. Let's analyze it and see if we ourselves are in this group. There is no denying that a high level of coherence translates into much better health and well-being, but also into increased self-confidence, courage, openness, tolerance and empathy.

Examining the sense of coherence is not at all difficult. It is enough to answer a few sample questions, thanks to which we will find out in a short time whether we are coherent people or whether we cannot cope with stress and need outside help. Here is a list of questions to ask yourself first:

- How will we behave in a new/unexpected situation?

- How do I see my own future? What do I see in her?

- Can I cope with difficult challenges/obstacles?

- Are we chaotic?

- Are we in control of what happens in our lives?

-Do we find meaning in our actions?

If we can cope with any situation, see the sense in our actions and control our actions so far, it means that our sense of coherence is really high. Such people do not act chaotically, cope with challenges and see the future in bright colors. Let's ask ourselves the above questions, and then consult our answers with relatives or specialists. On this basis, we will find out whether we are really coherent people.

It's time for a short summary of the article on coherence. It is a concept derived from psychology, which speaks of the ability to adapt to the changes that await us. The higher the level of coherence, the better, because in this way we take care of our health and well-being.

Coherence has a significant impact on the perception of stress. A high sense of well-being makes stress a motivation for us to take further actions to deal with the obstacles we encounter. Low self-esteem translates into the fact that we give up quickly, we will experience it and, as a consequence, we may develop various ailments.

We should be aware that coherence consists of three components: comprehensibility (we understand all external stimuli that we receive on a daily basis), resourcefulness (we are able to use the resources that are in our close environment) and meaningfulness (we find a deep meaning in your life and activities).

If we are coherent people, we have a much better chance to improve our health and well-being. This is the shortest way to avoid mental disorders, anxiety and panic attacks, neurosis or somatic diseases. We will also become bolder, open to the world and more empathetic. Coherence means the ability to work under time pressure and in a group, avoiding stimulants and not feeling excessive mental discomfort.

In a situation where we want to examine our sense of coherence, it is enough to ask ourselves a few basic questions: can we cope with challenges/obstacles? (YES), do we find meaning in our actions? (YES), are we chaotic? (NO), how do we see our own future? (in bright colors), are we in control of what is going on in our lives? (YES) how will we behave in the new situation? (we'll deal with it).
