St. Patrick’s day is on its way (March 17,2021) and most of us are still stuck at home due to covid-19. Unable to partake in this annual drunken festivity. BUT you can still celebrate at home and enjoy some festive drinks during your St Patrick’s Day zoom meeting! There are so many tasty St. Patrick’s Day appropriate drinks out there, but here are my 5 picks. So get ready to go booze shopping before the holiday hits and have fun!

Tipsy Shamrock

If you’re a fan of shamrock shakes, this will easily become your favorite. This drink is basically an alcoholic shamrock shake and you can barely tell that you're drinking alcohol. You will need a shaker for this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Creme de Menthe
  • Vodka
  • Irish Cream
  • Half and Half
  • Ice
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Sprinkles

Directions:

Get Your glass out and coat the rim of your glass with chocolate syrup and then coat the rim with sprinkles. The chocolate syrup should act as an adhesive for your sprinkles. Next get out your shaker and add ½ oz of Creme de Menthe, 2oz of vodka, 1oz irish cream, and ½ oz half and half. Then you add ice and lightly shake with your shaker. Finally you pour your concoctions in your glass. You can pour it over ice if you choose to include ice in your drink.

Shamrock Shot

This fun and delicious shot is basically the shot version of the Tipsy Shamrock. It’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day gatherings and you’ll probably be able to drink a lot more of these shots compared to others. Just like the previous drink, you will need a shaker.

Ingredients:

  • Vanilla Vodka
  • Creme de Menthe
  • Chocolate bitters
  • Heavy cream
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

Get out your shaker and pour 1 ¼ oz vanilla vodka, 1 ¼ oz creme de menthe, 4 drops of chocolate bitters, and 2oz of heavy cream. Add ice to your shaker and lightly shake. Then strain into your shot glass and top it off with whipped cream. You can add a mint chocolate candy as a garnish.

Kilbeggan Irish Coffee

This drink is for those who want to add a bit of a spike to their Irish coffee. This is the easiest drink to make as you will only need to pour all the ingredients in your glass. Just like making any other simple coffee drink.

Ingredients:

  • Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey
  • Hot coffee
  • Brown sugar
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

Get out a mug of your choice and pour 1 ½ oz of Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey, 1 oz of hot coffee, ¾ tsp. of brown sugar into your mug and stir. Finally top off your drink with whipped cream.

Irish Old Fashioned

If the previous three drinks are too sweet for you, this drink may be more up your alley. This drink has the intensity of whiskey with some citrus flavoring to it. You will need an extra glass to stir your ingredients together.

Ingredients:

  • Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey
  • Benedictine
  • Angostura bitters
  • Orange bitters

Directions:

Get out a stirring glass and add 2 oz of Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey, ¾ oz of Benedictine, 2 drops of Angostura bitters, and 2 drops of orange bitters. Add ice to your glass and stir until the drink is chilled. Finally strain your drink into a rocks glass over ice.

Irish Whiskey Maid

Another Irish whiskey cocktail for those who don’t want a drink that is too sweet. The cucumber and lime gives it a refreshing taste. This drink is a bit complicated as it requires both a muddler and a shaker.

Ingredients:

  • Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey
  • Lime juice
  • Simple syrup
  • Japanese Cucumber

Directions:

Slice 3 slices of Japanese cucumber and muddle it with a muddler and add it to your shaker. Then add 2oz of Jameson Black Barrel Whiskey, 1oz of lime juice, ¾ oz of simple syrup into the same shaker. Add ice and shake thoroughly. Finally strain your drink into a rocks glass over ice. You can garnish your drink with a few mint leaves and or a slice of cucumber.
