Don't Throw Away Your Coffee Grounds!
If you're like me, you have to start your day with a cup of coffee or else you'll find it hard to function throughout the day. Ingesting so much coffee throughout the week means that you use a lot of coffee grounds. It's safe to bet that most people whether they drink coffee daily or on special occasions, throw away their coffee grounds. The majority of people don't really think about whether something can be recycled or not especially organic waste. Since organic waste can start to stink and attract unwanted bugs into the house. But, if you have a garden or even just a few potted plants, you should definitely save your coffee grounds! The reason why is because coffee grounds, when mixed into soil, can become beneficial nutrients for your plants. Coffee grounds can also repel certain pests in your garden.

What Lengths Would You Take To Become Famous?
As I was scrolling through a variety of indie games on itch.io, I came across #influenced. The adorable art caught my attention and I decided to try it out. #influenced is a kinetic novel created for the Nanoreno 2020 challenge. So what is a kinetic novel? A kinetic novel is a form of visual novel that does not have multiple storylines and endings. It’s basically a linear story book in game form. This game was created in a month so it has a very short playthrough. The website says that the game has about 30min of gameplay. It took me 2hours to play and I’ll explain later why it took me 2hours to complete a 30min long story book. To be quite honest, I did not read the game's description or any of the comments posted on the game’s itch.io page and was quite surprised as the game progressed. I saw the content warning (since it was in bold font), but did not take it as the game is potentially a horror game (it's a horror game). I mean, the art is so cute! I couldn’t possibly think that something so cute would turn the way it did.

My Generation's Fatal Flaws
I'm a proud Millennial. I love the year I was born as well as appreciate my childhood experiences and up bringing. To be honest, I think every generation has it's perks and shouldn't be completely undermined, but I will not ignore the tell-tale flaws of my generation or any generation of that matter. We all have issues and instead of constantly patting each other on the back for each and everything. We also need to take a look in the mirror and see what our issues are as a collective whole. For those under the age of 40, our biggest problem is the expectation for instant gratification and the intense need to virtue signal. I see it everywhere on social media platforms and it's almost always coming from people from my generation and the generation after. I have been seeing it more mostly because of the covid vaccines that have recently come into public distribution. For the record, I respect every individual's decision to either take the vaccine or not, but (and this is a big but) the instant gratification and virtue signaling has gone too far when it comes to the covid vaccines.

The Health Benefits of Pine Needle Tea
I have always loved tea. I would even say I'm a tea fanatic and have always been interested in trying out new kinds of tea. I even grow my own tea in my garden. I've made my own green tea, black tea, mint tea, the list goes on. Pretty much all tea has it's own health benefits, but one tea that stands out especially during the pandemic as well as the end of the pandemic is pine needle tea. Pine needle tea has a very pleasant woodsy smell to it. The smell alone can be very relaxing. The tea itself, has a very subtle citrus taste to it. Which is kind of surprising since I initially assumed pine needle tea would have an intense taste to it. There are so many benefits to drinking pine needle tea including the immune system boost that it can give you. Of course you can not just go up to a random pine tree and pick the needles. As some pine needles are toxic! I would suggest taking pine needles from an Eastern White Pine, but there are other varieties that you can use.

How to use Peat Pellets
In an earlier article I listed off some items that one can use when they first start growing plants. One of the items I listed was peat pellets. Personally, I love peat pellets. They are neat and easy to use. The only setback can be the price. My local Walmart happens to sell a pack of 72 peat pellets for just under $8 USD, but I was surprised to find that online you can buy the same 72 pack for a little under $44 USD. So I would suggest shopping around to find the store with the best price. Like I said in my earlier article, peat pellets are perfect for when you first start planting your seeds. The only thing is, what do you do once your little plant baby starts sprouting up? It's hard for beginners to know when the right time to transfer your plant into a pot or garden bed is. In my experience, it really depends on the plant. So here is what I do when I use peat pellets.

Has Feminism Become Toxic?
The short answer is yes. Over the years feminism, which once was a righteous fight for basic opportunities and rights for women. Has become an excuse to both demoralize women and demonize men. Yet mainstream media bends over backwards in order to portray this new feminism as a righteous fight that needs to be pushed even further because women are becoming more and more oppressed by the evil men who have all the power and privilege. You see so much news coverage and social media comments gushing over our woman this and that in our government, but only in the Democratic party. Any woman this or that within the Republican party is undermined and ignored, but that is a completely different topic altogether. The fact is the media acts like women need to continue to persevere in a society that only rewards men. On top of that women are pressured by music, art, and social media to show off their bodies and do provocative things in order to persevere against men. Basically women should be free to show everything without fear of being shamed. And if you dare to shame them you are a misogynist. Misogyny is a word that is being thrown around to the point where the meaning have become soft. Less severe. Less meaningful. When a word that should hold weight has become weightless that should be a red flag. Yet if you say something you risk being shunned. This problem I am seeing with feminism matters to me because I am a woman who cares about people of all walks of life. Another reason why this issue that I am seeing matters to me is because I bought into a lot of it.

Why You Should Plant Moss Rose
It's finally Spring! You can finally go out and get some fresh air without having to bundle up in excessive amounts of layers. Spring is also the time of year when most will start growing their own plants. For some, you want a nice pretty plant to decorate your interior. Others are looking for plants to add to their yard's aesthetic. Moss Rose is a perfect plant that's both pleasing to the eye and easy for anyone to maintain. Moss Rose is a variation of Portulaca, a flowering succulent plant that comes in a variety of different types that can usually withstand harsh climates. Their fleshy succulent leaves store water making them able to adapt to dry weather. Depending on the variation some types can tolerate cold weather as long as there is no frost and others can withstand the intense tropical climates. Some Portulaca variants will even reseed themselves making them annual plants. Since these plants thrive in all sorts of climates and can take over an area. Some Portulaca variants are considered weeds to some gardeners.

People of Earth
Alien conspiracy theories and alien abduction allegations have been circling our society since at least the 1950s. With little to no evidence of whether these things are true or false. As well as complete government denial for decades. Many of these alien allegations and experiences have been looked at as just crazy talk. Even today in the year 2021, if you came out and told people we had specific species of aliens that have been watching and living among us. People would look at you like you were absolutely bonkers. Yet everyone can agree that there must be other life forms out there on other planets. In the world of People of Earth, a TBS science fiction comedy series, alien conspiracy theories come to life in a world similar to ours. The people of small town Beacon, New York socially shun the alien “conspiracy” group called StarCrossed. While we the viewers see that the aliens are in fact real and abducting people.

Calm Your Mind With Music
Our brains are bombarded with an assortment of thoughts and emotions throughout the day. Whether you're stressed out about making a certain deadline or an exciting new idea has taken over your mind. You are constantly working your brain to exhaustion. This can be a big problem when you finally have time to kick back and relax because you find that you just can not relax. Your mind feels like it's going a thousand miles per hour. When I was a teenager I found that meditation is the best way to calm yourself and clear your mind. Like many teenagers that grew up with constant internet, television, and any other kind of screen time. Sitting still in silence is more nerve wracking than calming. Years ago a friend had told me to research “brain wave music” because the frequency of the music does effect your brain in either a positive or negative way. So over the years I've concocted a meditation playlist composed of brain wave songs that I like to enjoy every night before bed. I try to have a variety of different frequencies that are healthy for your body and spirit while meditating. Tapping into all of the chakras as they are all important. It's also not healthy to focus on only one chakra level. Since all of these songs are very long I normally just choose one per meditation session.

Life is Strange
The official introduction to the newest game in the Life is Strange series True Colors has just been released. Like many Life is Strange fans, I'm very excited and curious about the new game. Each Life is Strange game follows a different set of characters with a mysterious superhuman power that is possessed usually after a traumatic event in the game has happened. Players get to choose different decisions that the characters must make resulting in different outcomes for each scene and even for the whole game's ending. Life is Strange 1 and 2 are very different stories, but the story's similar style and reoccurring characters do tie the two games together.
