CBD Oil vs Hemp Oil
If you're looking at tinctures, you are probably wondering about the differences between CBD oil vs hemp oil. Here's what you need to know.
Recently, I've started taking an interest in bolstering my overall wellness with tinctures involving various extracts from cannabis. I've heard good things from friends, especially when they heard about my anxiety and PTSD issues. Since I can't get approved for medical marijuana, I might as well get the next best thing.
When I went into a store looking for oil, I noticed that there were two different sections: hemp oil and CBD oil. I'll be honest, I didn't really know the difference between the two, and had to experiment in order to get a better idea of what I was buying.
If you don't have the extra cash on hand to do so, then I strongly suggest you read up on the differences between CBD oil vs hemp oil.
CBD Oil vs Hemp Oil: How They're Made
Hemp oil can be made from both marijuana and hemp plants, and it's made by pressing the oil out of seeds. Hemp oil doesn't have high levels of THC or CBD; it's basically flaxseed oil that's derived from cannabis instead of flax.
CBD oil, on the other hand, is extracted in ways similar to THC extraction methods. So, there's some heat involved to unlock the CBD, and the entire plant may be pressed in order to obtain the CBD inside. After that, it may be purified by removing the THC.
CBD Oil vs Hemp Oil: The CBD and THC Content
The cannabis strains used in hemp oil do not naturally have high THC or CBD levels. So, hemp oil will not get you high. There's not enough CBD or THC to offer those kinds of health effects.
CBD oil, on the other hand, will have a high amount of CBD...otherwise, it wouldn't be called CBD oil. That being said, most CBD oil sold on the market is diluted, because it would be a major high otherwise.
Some CBD oils might have varying amounts of THC, as well. However, CBD oils that have large quantities are often sold exclusively in dispensaries and may be illegal in other states.
CBD Oil vs Hemp Oil: The Benefits
Hemp oil is rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids — and they're in perfect balance, too. It's also pretty flavorful, so if you're looking for a new cooking ingredient with a nutty, smoky taste, you can use it that way, too. It's also a good moisturizer.
CBD oil, however, is known for being more than a dietary supplement. This oil has been proven to have anti-epilepsy qualities, calming qualities, pain relief qualities, and more. Basically, many of the benefits of medical marijuana can be found in CBD.
In the Battle Between CBD Oil vs Hemp Oil...
I'd personally say that CBD oil wins. It's legal to use, has major health benefits, and also tastes pretty darn great in a cup of coffee. Though it's hard to find CBD oil online, the truth is that most health stores will have it — and so will vape shops. So, shop away.
