You, Another Dream

She Visits Me at Night

Another midnight insurrection,

a stained-glass image broken busted blasting,

mending, weaving, myriad crashing colors casting

the same melancholy misdirection,

startling in its perfection,

hands exploring, traveling, running

skin-to-skin warmth, stunning,

basking in beautiful connection,

and smiling pink-lipped affection,

whispered words and luscious laughter curing,

jade-green eyes to my blue iris mooring,

until we meet that stained-glass ejection;

one more daylight dejection,

another broken mirror morning reminding

that alluring hope spellbinding

scatters with the truth's despondent objection,

and ends with my own dreary reflection.
