In the cavity of a dim black house,
Lest your heart and mind shall crave to tear,
It could house you but won’t keep you,
What a mess, to say the least,
Recollected distress,
The child’s room is crammed
More than any,
Holding dark,
One house,
Maimed.
Awe.
One word,
It proclaims
By a bare wall,
There’s the new picture,
Their wound showing my wound,
My healing, now heal theirs too,
The windows need scrubbing to see
Unity with the rest of the world,
We may be ready to take the first step.
