Wild
A Poem by Keila Aartila
Wild
She dances to the beat of her own heart,
struck off key, to rhythm widely unknown,
skipping over heavy rocks and Autumn
***
leaves to find the fierce cold of black and white,
to explore the dismal place she’d outgrown,
she dances to the beat of her own heart
***
wading through the seeds of yesterday’s fight,
seeking lost appeal of the heiress throne,
skipping over heavy rocks and Autumn
***
looking for the drumming lost in dimmed light,
crushing attempts to control overthrown,
she dances to the beat of her own heart
***
conflicting the chorus singing what’s right,
she longs once more for colors to be shown,
skipping over heavy rocks and Autumn
***
breezes through to where the sunshine is bright,
where again she spins wildly, as prone,
she dances to the beat of her own heart
skipping over heavy rocks and Autumn.
