When Hummingbirds Pause

Nature Renews

When manic relaxes a moment

and frantic finally slows down

When havoc has pause to rejuvenate

and crazy takes a break and sits down

When slumber softly serenades silly

and chaos carefully caresses serene

When the hummingbirds find rest from it's humming

in the stillness that comes from between

When fine fuzzy feathers cease flapping

reasons to rest make their way back around

When silence truly is golden

needs are met, without making a sound

When peace packs a punch propped in repose

lounging from their beaks to their toes

Then you know slumber came to bring solace

nature's way to restore and replace

Simply beautiful. As pastors who have been told throughout our ministry that we need to keep Sabbath, that we are to take two days off completely every week, but are still expected to complete 70-80 hours of work in said week & be on call at all times, I think every single last damn one of us should have this posted in every office we frequent or door we pass through. Thank you for writing this. It's one of the best things I've read all day.
