Pains of loved starved stranger

Wandering through the streets of loneliness

Pacing down it’s dusty roads; painted by its dust of weariness

Caught in its maze amidst thickets of wanderers seeking;

Looking for a way out of this unending genjitsu

Alas, a glimpse of a cottage; perhaps a place to rest

these hurting feet and trodden wanderer

It’s lights shone through the frosted glass offering much hope; a chimney filled with smoke of romance from a fireplace blazing beneath it

Promises of warmth, a shelter for a heart-starved of love.

Knocks on a paint-peeled door, shouts of hello echoing through its alley

A response so longed for; kept at bay on the other side

Drained and empty, this broken wanderer settles; awaiting his festered fate on this flawless facade

Unknown to him, he was nothing but an unwelcome guest
