Finding true love

I couldn’t tell whether it was a trance

Or the spell you cast;

Watching the brush strokes on the canvas

Gently and subtly unveiling a picture of us; together.

Together forever but never;A promise of what could have been

Maimed by a charm so evergreen

Dismantling whatever is standing it’s way into the unseen

Never to be seen; never to be retrieved

Hearts broken; left unattended

Each piece so visible; yet unrecognizable as one piece

A once priceless heart; now a worthless piece of art

Wading these waters of love

Gaiting earnestly to pluck out a rose from its garden

Pricked by its visible thorns; ignoring its pain

Now I’m choked in these thistles of torment; torment not for a moment but torment as a monument

Not to be forgotten but as an eternal reminder

Ever replaying the brief, tainted scenes we created together.
