Unsent Love Letters
Etched In The Pages Of My Notebooks
Countless times
*
I wrote poems
I never sent you
*
Poems that filled more pages
than I'd like to admit
*
Poems I wish
I could have shown you
but I knew the depth of my love
scared you more than anything
*
So I kept them to myself
Sometimes I stumble upon them
in my old notebooks
*
Then I wonder
if you would have believed
the depth of my sincerity
if you ever saw them
*
They're much different than
most the ones I've shown you
Much different than
the ones I've made public
*
They're sweet soulful songs
Powerfully soft
like the ocean waves
purling over a beachside
*
They exist
as unsent love letters
etched in the pages
of my notebooks
