She said your eyes are like mirrors
Reflective of me
But there’s something behind them
Hidden in the specs of green
Stories told
Even some written
But there’s things you hold
You still haven’t forgiven
Secrets masked behind the beauty of your smile
Jokes told to keep your composure mild
God I love the sound you make when you catch your laugh but then your face fades back so damn fast
Yet here I am still distracted by your wrinkles autograph
Never getting to see you actually crash
You share a lot
But no one's been told
The horrors you’ve seen
The treasures you stole
Things you did
Things others didn’t
But you never regret anything
Never want to go back to the beginning
Sometimes I think you are too strong
You let others see what’s behind these masks you have on
But there’s another layer of them underneath
Things forever making you feel incomplete
So you use honesty and humor to release some fiends
Take a deep breath while your mind's still clean
Lasts a few seconds because what’s beneath
Is enough to make you have those chattering teeth
Your freckles dot your face like the stars
I wish you knew how much I love who you are
How you cope is an art
Expression is something you’ll always love
And Love is something you’ll always want
You may think you love yourself
But then why are you so hard on yourself?
Why do you cause harm to yourself?
Why do think you don’t belong to yourself?
Stop looking for the answers in someone else
And finally forgive your fucking self
Let go of things you no longer are
Let the messy tangles of your hair fall to the floor
Let your acne show to the world
Let your scars speak for themselves
You are not your imperfections you are how you deal with them
You are not your past, you are are how you grew from it
You are not the opinions people have of you
You are the beauty in the yourself’s improve
That’s the real truth,
hidden..
in your,
Eye.
Love,
You
