White

True color

What truly defines me?

Even I do not know myself well

At times, estranged

What color resembles me?

White

Is the closest relatable

White as the state of mind

Blankness

Like a canvas

Waiting for its painter

White as a sheet

When I zone out

In need of a clear goal

White as a sheep

When I feel lost

In need of a shepherd

White as a ghost

When I fear my deepest fear

In need to break free

To be courageous

White is like an adjective

Of vacant and subjectivity

Of me reflecting my surrounding,

The atmosphere, the mood, the vibe

Smile for smiles, frown for frowns

Like a ripple effect

Contagious

Tangled and intertwined

Why white?

When there is a palette of colors

Innumerable

Even merely looking up at the sky hues

There are countless possibilities,

It is never the same

Sky blue is never constant

It is everchanging

Just like the drifting white clouds

Maybe this is the reason why

That fulfills it, makes it

Uncontrollably yet unquestionably fond

Captivating us, the observants

For the fact that it is and will never the same

For change is the constant

It may never be one that defines all

It is made up of plenty but fragmented components

Like the incomplete me

Imperfect but growing still

To attain the ultimate self-actualization

Does white equal to purity?

Seemingly yes

But there are tones and levels

It could signify more than what is shown

It could be layered

It could be camouflaged

Easily tinted and filtered with others

It is not just the one color

That you perceived with your naked eyes

For what is unseen is faith

For what is unheard stays still

For what is unspoken often tells more

Imprinted deeply in our culture

The symbolism and significance of white

Which could be a bias

That has permeated and seeped through our cultures

In which all the definitions are made up by the people

That is long enough to make the history

To tell the tale

Viewing through each of our lens

There might be a slight difference

In seeing and interpretation

White for wedding

White for funeral

White for innocence

White for surrender

For happiness, for sadness

For the naïve, for the defeat

There are as much negative correlations

As there are of the positive ones

Therefore embrace

The true color

The true self

The true you

The true me
