These Are a Few of My Favorite Words (Set to the tune of “My Favorite Things” from “The Sound of Music”)

I like words of whimsy that elicit perplexed looks

Like flibbertigibbet – and gobbledygook

Things that sound silly or even absurd

These are a few of my favorite words

A hullabaloo – of perissology

Jabberwocky with – you nerds of badassery

Ignoramus and flatulence and ermahgerd!

These are a few of my favorite words

When I’m flummoxed

Or bumfuzzled

Or just need a laugh

I recite just a few of these humorous words

And it’s impossible to be an agelast

Words said in anger or out of frustration

Requests for my license and car’s registration

“Step out of the vehicle, it reeks of beer”

These are some words I’d prefer not to hear

Have you added a few pounds or are you just bulking

And stop with your crying and pouting and sulking

“Perhaps we should start dating others, my dear”

These are more words that I don’t like to hear

I would rather

Not palaver

It’s just rigmarole

I’d prefer to get sozzled and use silly words

In confabulatory droll!
