The Treatment

For suffering from chronic illness

Drip, drip, drip

Goes the IV

A symphony of sanity

The doctor tells them

Let it play

This is the treatment

Swallow it down

I'll be by your side when

You’re starting to drown

This is the treatment

There is no cure

Pretend you can feel it

But never be sure

Please be sure

This time

If you laugh

They won't see it

The rot inside

No one can fix

Smile wider

Hold it down

Down

Down

The doc says you

Must save yourself

There's some pills up on the shelf

Don't you want

To feel okay?

This is the treatment

Swallow it down

I'll be by your side when

You're starting to drown

This is the treatment

There is no cure

Pretend you can feel it

But never be sure

But never be sure
