The Strength of his Fortitude

Welcomed in this world

He follows his heart to happiness and peace,

Something more of us could do in kind,

Blood on the hand of friendship offered,

Understanding, compassion, and the sharing of his mind.

💜

Nothing is too much trouble, so feel free to ask,

As he welcomes newcomers into his blazing heart,

Stretching his infinity into a welcoming desire,

Sheltering smiles and love as he completes his part.

💜

He walks the fiefdom of his existence,

Strengthening his fortitude by the blade,

Honour amongst his greatest assets,

Lassoing in those unsheathed who’d recently strayed.

💜

Hat set upon his long dark hair,

A smile in his eyes that glows from his strength,

Excelling as a hunter gatherer of the mundane,

Sourcing the energy of the forgotten kept at arm’s length.

💜

The whisper of his silken voice in anyone’s ear,

Is a pot of gold in which they continue to invest,

Love sprouts freely from those tender moist lips,

And one kiss will endeavour to survive those blessed.

💜

Heart swollen adoration is a feeling that lasts for days,

After he has wandered solemnly across your life’s path,

Leaving you begging for more, a mere taste not enough,

Wilted and dehydrated as the spontaneous aftermath.

💜

Forget the dreams and wishes of his honest soul,

As he determines the need of infinite thought,

One touch from his moist fingers will see you explode,

Making him one that is often favoured and sought.

💜

Knowing the possibilities of the future he holds,

He haughtily wanders through the pastures of care,

Leaving wisdom and peace following in his wake,

But disappoint him, hurt him, I forewarn you beware.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Just because he's a gentleman, one shouldn't mess with him. Loved your poem my friend!

  • Before he sees me or senses that I am here, he is already disappointed. Whether or not he is hurt is up to him.
