The sorrow of lost opportunities in love

We all make mistakes and lose our way

In the search for love that will never stray

But when we look back on what we've done

We see the opportunities that we've outrun

The chances that slipped through our fingers

The moments we let love linger

The love that we could have held tight

The love that would have filled our night

Now we're left with just a memory

Of what could have been, what was meant to be

But in the end, we must learn to cope

With the love that slipped through the hope

And though we may never get it back

We must remember that love will come again, intact.
