The Growth of My Force
Growing up is something that I always cherished because that is
the first step of manhood and my own business.
It was blazing and sunny on the 4th of May,
It was 16th birthday but also Star Wars Day.
My mother gave me a present that showed her love to me.
I closed my eyes and when I opened them it couldn’t be true.
What I saw in front of me was a metallic silver Camry with lush cotton seats that were new.
My mom said “Happy Birthday and “May the 4th be with you”
Partying was over and next was the DMV to take my drivers test.
Having to go through a whole year needing someone 21
or older to ride with me was a burden that was finally lifted off my shoulders.
I passed, and cherished my new Camry dubbed “Flash”.
With the power of the force, speed of a star fighter and voice operation of a droid
I was the captain of this silver ship, and I was overjoyed.
The time of having to beg my sister to come with me to places was done.
I am thankful for Flash as that was a touching gift from mother to son.
Overall, being old enough to drive and having my own car were huge moments in my life
that I will honor and cherish forever with the Star Wars song on a well played fife.

Death is a black hole. Think about it. A black hole is the corpse of a star, something once warm and bright, now come to the end of its life cycle. But some will argue that the cycle of life does not end with death. That death is merely another path we must walk once our bodies expire and our souls ascend. In that moment, when the fuel in the star’s chemical tank hits empty and the shiny matte coat explodes into supernova, the mass left behind – the corpse – becomes a black hole. We understand that, around such a vast cadaver, dimensions work a little differently in death to the way we’re used to in life. For example, light cannot escape the pull of a black hole when it hits the point of no return. That’s where it gets its colour. Space itself is contorted by a black hole. That’s where it gets its funny shape. Even time. Time slows right down the closer you get to it. The closer you get to a black hole. The closer you get to death.
