The Cyan of a Ulysses Butterfly

And the quietness of your voice

I could never

Figure out if

Your eyes were

The cyan of

A Ulysses butterfly

Or the cerulean

Of forget-me-nots

I never knew if you

Smelt like rosewood

Or sandalwood but

You reminded me of

Petrichor and the

Feeling of safety that it

Is always accompanied by

Your voice had the

Quietness of never

Being heard and so

I listened to you like

You were the orchestra

Onboard the titanic

I still can’t figure out

If your smile is soft

Like the petals of

A blooming flower

Or sad like the songs

In a death scene

You laugh like

You want to be happy

And I write as if

I want you to be mine

I could never figure out

If loving you was

Pouring salt on my wounds

Or sewing them closed

The chorus of birds, a symphony so grand, Melodies weaving through the landscapes grand. Their songs serenade my heart's every beat, As nature's rhythm and mine entwine and meet.🌟 @NicksKhan2 BY DeXignSHK #SHK_Writes

  • Nor can I. Could it be in each instance you've lifted up, both?

Simply sublime. I did have to look up "Petrichor", and then was like "oh yeah." All of your wording is perfect to convey the feelings being expressed. Loved it. Congratulations on your Top Story!
