Poem - 029, The Bard

My stories are well known throughout the realms.

All told through oral tales, from songs drawn,

Those Knights in their shiny helms.

Surely memory long prevails.

Some are meek, and some are brawn,

But the past simply fails,

To drag on these hearty tales.

So here, to you-

Is another story, ever true,

An accursed land, ready to break through.

You’d begin to wonder if that’s bad,

or maybe… I’m simply mad.

But I should show my care...

For it's not my burden to bear.

Perhaps you may pass it along

For sharing is scarcely wrong.

-Kaliyah Myers, a Poem to a soon to be book named, The Mad Project

Love this! Your title took my interest because I lecture in Shakespeare, and the narrative voice is an intriguing blend of Autolycus the balladeer in The Winter's Tale and the canny deceptive wisdom of King Lear's Fool ("or maybe...I'm simply mad"). The name Autolycus even means "lone wolf," which suits your solitary wondering narrator. Possibly you knew that already though, because I see you speak some Latin - just going by the killer ants in Doorway to Thirteen Realms!
