Poem -027, Goodnight

The ocean drips,

As far as the land can stretch…

We take these trips-

I forget the rest.

Thunder sings only for lightning-

Which dances in the sky.

Clouds shaded like a bruised prune.

I’ll never ask why.

I just know it's a sweet tune…

A storm is right,

when shadows dance with light.

Then there is the moon!

You can see it from your room!

It calls to the waters dripping.

The waters gather, rippling.

The ocean drips,

As far as the land can stretch…

We take these trips-

I forget the rest…

A storm is right,

When shadows dance with light.

All that's left to say tonight…

Is goodnight.
