The advent of Twilight

When shadowy hues beckon (Dialogue).

It is the evening twilight of the lived years, as autumn's eventide beckons and calls

A time when wild passions no longer flow in oceans of longing and youthful exuberance

A lull and hush dim the once fairy-like dreams as they now slowly fade from remembered memory, like nameless yearnings of regret

In dim hazy silhouettes we gaze upon the unsung lullabies as they ruefully descend into dark nothingness...

In grim nostalgia we wish them lovingly linger, and stay just a little while longer

Yet hope still whispers, promising happier moonlit hours

Dear though her hushed admonitions, alas...lost are the early blooms

Ah, the youthful crimson of her early glow, lovely smiles, graceful matin in her songs

When heavens music and sad notes of woe sung devout for early morning mass

Birds chanted a jubilee, pouring out the notes like campfire smoke, too thick for their vocal cords

We were still unheard in sunny bowers, where life's many words of bliss were still being newly born

Back when we had no cares and worried not of living or of dying, when we lived only to love and live

Our hearts danced in the purity of the skies, and mocked the passing clouds that dared to dim its blues

Fleeting and few were our thoughts of sorrow then, for life offered every moment lived filled with magic and forever promises

Fertility and virility had their sway too

In bright dreams of the vigils of its delight of half realized dreams still burning bright

Through balmy days and nights, lightning strikes and storm-tossed air, still the rainbow fires they did burn

While life's noontide stayed wreathed in summer flowers and robes of summer green

Yet now the twilight promises are no longer dazzling, for the eyes that once danced in sparkling depths of ocean blue

Have now been dimmed by the passage of time, seeing only the bright glow of Heaven's welcoming light

The angels smile in tones of tranquil warmth and bid a fond welcome

Smiles that should now brighten the dimming of the evening star

But instead strikes dread and fear where happy should now be welcomed

I am not ready, close now the windows of Valhalla, Hades, Hell, Heaven and The Pearly gates

Hush, be still thou beating heart

Those whispers of the fast approach of faint waning of the lights

Of life departing hurriedly into the twilight

Are not for you

Hurry the changing beating of the heart

Sail quickly away on gentle moonbeams

Worry not of this twilight's call

Many an adventure still awaits twixt this twilight and the next

Just yonder up ahead

Steadfast be, hold onto life

Live it to the fullest!

This was so hopeful, but it put me on edge too! Ended it feeling like I have to rush out and paint a masterpiece or get a Netflix deal, like YESTERDAY! 😁
