Talking To The Moon
"This Is Me, Talking To The Moon" By Waters
I don't have time today,
I want to remember when your face was as memorable as my hands
I want to go back to when reaching for you was the hardest thing I had to do because if I reached far enough I knew I would always find you
I miss automatically always trying to find you if I felt you were too far away
But I don't have time today
A walk in your direction these days weighs too heavy on my heart and I'm afraid I won't come back standing
Both feet to greet but they say to always keep one grounded
I think about meeting you in outer space but the sun is shining so bright I can't see your stars
Sometimes I feel like I just wanna get drunk to see stars
Your gifts shine like sun rays dancing off metal objects and I can't help but want to dance with you
I know, when I wake up, that my place is among the people
And so I stay grounded for you and pray that one day I will be enough for your universe so maybe we could dance together again
Right now though, I'm taking my time, one day at a time, reminding myself of my place.
This is me
Talking to the moon.
