surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
I dream in Purple
I dream in Purple Where are They? She asked the moment her feet touched the ground. ’’I don’t see them anymore, there’s nothing, just a pitch black night, just a hole without the end. I want my lilacs,I want my colours back, my purple umbrella and green stories, my golden fairies riding on the back of the birds. I want them back. Please, give me back my Dreamland. I’m nothing without my dreams and they are nothing without me as they need to be dreamed away. ‘’

Am I Transparent
Brown It's the color of my eyes, the color of my hair, and the one feature that's the most noticeable the color of my skin. In the winter when I'm not outside in the sun, or when my health declines and I end up anemic again. I'm not as brown, but still don't fit in. It's my features, and my ethnicity that shines through. When my brown skin makes me feel transparent. As I continue to be unheard. I raise my voice to advocate for our people, screaming that we are still here! Although, I may be the only one in the room with all the knowledge on a topic. I'm still questioned of my capabilities, because my skin is brown. No matter what I'll always love my brown skin, and be proud of my heritage! I just hope and pray that one day my brown skin isn't the reason I end up dead!
