A Dog With An Old Soul
when I first visited the animal shelter, I knew what type of dog I wanted. However, that changed when I was in the presence of a small Yorkie. She didn’t run up to me or try to lick me or jump on me like most dogs do. Instead she followed me, while staring at me from a distance of about 7 feet. She had the most innocent looking eyes and I remember her slightly smiling.

The Rain
It’s October, and it has been raining everyday. This wasn’t just some fall rain, this was abnormal rain. You could feel it almost piercing through your skin. Scientists said that it’s due to global warming. Whether that was true or not, this phenomenon was petrifying… rain kept pouring nonstop. If I left a five gallon bucket outside, it would fill up within 15 seconds, and this was not an exaggeration. Going outside was risky, but people had to continue on with their lives. The electricity would go off often so there was no way people could do online school or work virtually.

Snowy
Snowy likes her freedom. She does not like it when others boss her around and tell her what to do. In response, she will face her behind towards you to send a message, and the message is very clear. If she doesn't get what she wants, she will stomp her foot on the ground repeatedly to show anger. She will also not want to interact with you for a while but stalk you through your bedroom door like Joe from "You".

Little Gestures
I know life made you overthink everything, and I know that you’ve lived in fear for your life at one point. Living through war, you’ve seen how cruel the world could get. You’ve seen how they’ve taken your father away from you. You saw how your Mom was on the floor wailing and begging them not to take him away. I couldn’t imagine being in that situation. Would I be comforting my Mom or my little siblings who were too young to understand what was happening?

A Drunken Ride
“Just close your eyes and pretend it’s all a bad dream. That’s how I get by.” - Captain Jack Sparrow If you’re looking for life advice, then Jack sparrow isn’t the one you should go to. Unless you’d like to end up having a drunk therapy session with him, which could end up helping or making your situation worse. The latter should be expected.
