A Resplendent Reality
My identity once fell between
The colors of the rainbow
Not having a chance to show my pride
In real time
Just on the hopes of making my wish come true
Every time I blew out my birthday candlesー
A gay love story in slow motion
Expressing my creativity became the outlet to come out
My mind continues to think it is in control
Thank you, Universe for showing me that color does exist
No longer will black and white convince me I’m alone
It is hard to do the walk of shame
When I should only be acclaimed for making it home safe
These are concerns others refuse to be discerning of
Silence isn’t good enough
Being myself is already unique
My wardrobe is full of color
How my eyes stay inclusive with every shade
Except pinkー
Then that means I’m destined to own it
Not blue eitherー
Then it seems my confusion will never get fixed
I never got to choose how free
My love for each color could feel on my body
Until now:
Standing amongst a society expecting to be proud of me一
This queer child of Mother Earth
Unwelcomed in the land that give birth to my First Amendment
The only thing impossible is growing up to change a world conditioned to systematic placement
But I’ll do it
Who I am is a resplendent reality of my imagination一
The most colorful intuition
Living proof that my pride has been the only validation I need
