Light Through the Cracks
My walls were split by grief I could not hide, The fractures spreading deeper every year. I patched with pride, with anger, even lies, But still the shadows found their way in here. Yet through the cracks a gentler light had grown, A glow that whispered mercy through the scar. I thought the break had left me all alone, But Love had entered where the fractures are. So suffering became its own disguise, A hollowed place where holiness could start. And though I cursed the wound that split my life, It opened wide the chamber of my heart. For God does not reside in walls of stone— He makes His dwelling where the cracks are shown.

The Slow Departure
We spoke in sparks that lit the darkest skies, Our laughter stitched the silence into flame. But time grew teeth, and distance sharpened lies, Until your voice became a stranger’s name. I reach for echoes where your footsteps stayed, A trail now buried under shifting years. The bond we swore could never come unmade Grew frail and vanished, watered down by tears. Yet still the ghost of us will sometimes rise, A shadow cast by memories that burn. And though I know all closeness slowly dies, A part of me still waits for your return. Not every ending screams or slams a door— Some friendships fade, then live no more.
