sad poetry
The cathartic nature of poetry makes it one of the best outlets to channel feelings of sadness, emotional turmoil, grief and despair.
Follow the I-5. Top Story - August 2026.
Should I depart early Should I disappear Should I leave this Earth Ne’er again to return Take a leisurely drive Down the I-5 With your most trusted companion By your side Watch the snow-capped mountains Morph into dry, dusted hills And roll into flat, fire-blasted plains So quiet and still Feel the wind pull on your car And yet drive without a care Keep going straight down the highway ‘Til the Grapevine you’ll find there Then follow the twisting road A little nauseated but still at peace As you merge into city traffic And realize now you are home With the blinding lights And the roaring crowd A fullness you’ve never felt before Filling you from your toes to your crown Now rush through the cars Or just meander through Until you reach the outer limits That you’ve been magnetically pulled to And there you will find Where my heart has always been A giant castle at its center Surrounded by several lands Go now to the hub And look all around Not with your eyes but with your heart Disneyland is where I will be found
