She Stood

Static

Pastel Sketch by Nina

Shock waves exploded.

She stood.

Implosion inside.

Yet she stood.

The world whizzed by.

She still stood.

Seasons changed.

She watched, she stood.

The sun shone, rain or snow.

By the window she stood.

A chair broke on the patio.

She put it aside and stood.

Cars whizzed by each day and night.

Lights off, she stood.

People and pets came by.

She nodded, waved and stood.

Groceries arrived at her doorstop.

She opened the door, took them inside and stood.

The broken chair rusted.

She saw it, and stood.

Alone at 85 she stood.

Memories flooded her inside.

She died.
