There are no shortcuts to happiness. Even the most special relationships require a natural order. Only the right order leads to true happiness. Don't be impatient, and don't be afraid of being alone; relationships that start haphazardly often end haphazardly as well.

The Day After the Fire
Author's notes: I wanted this poem to feel the way memory actually behaves during grief and change; fragmented, circular, and emotionally out of sequence.
