Storytelling

What kind of stories do I tell at this time of year

Storytelling is something everyone does! And some of the best will never tell their personal story. Some of the better storytellers and some of the best writers will never write their stories. They may tell others, but not theirs.

Not sure why, I’m sure it is different for most.

Some want to live life without a host

of problems or attention, they want to coast

They are not interested in making toast

either. Some are set in their ways and will boast

that they are not interested in toast or pot roast.

I’m here to let you know that this is true and to post

two stories and a bit about storytelling as a ghost.

~

Ghost writer that is. We tell stories of others

Sometimes I mention my brothers

my sisters, and taking pictures

for my book of conversations

with others, includes elders

who haven’t written their stories

and have agreed for me to print theirs

I feel so honored, the dollars

do not matter. If ever I remunerate it is

not important. Makes no differences.

~

Stories I tell are Sid Simons vulture story

about vulture food and how we are sorry

that others feed us that kind of food

that can put us in a bad mood

and then we do that to ourselves thus

we do it until that vulture is bopping us

on the top of the head. We are then told

to simply reach up and say “Pluck you old

vulture!” So if you have a vulture bopping

you on the top of the head or getting

close to that, do reach up and say stop

you vulture. No more vulture food atop

for you to bop on me. “Pluck you!” and

pull those feathers out. The end.

~

Then the eagle story, why the eagle flys

through the center of the storm and the whys

are simple. To get to the other side the quickest

no lies. Other birds will try to fly around and get

beat up and even killed, while the eagle is a bet

to be safe. So how does this work with you and me

We walk through the trauma, grief and loss to be

free, or we aren’t free and will self-medicate

with drugs, alcohol, gambling, and state

it is not a problem. You are the problem, Kate,

or Bob, or Joe, or Mary is what we say!

And hey, why not. Let’s be like the eagle

flying through the center of the storm. So regal!
