Meeting Yourself in the Present Moment
Spiritual practice is not about meeting God, but about meeting yourself. Spiritual practice and life are one. The purpose of spiritual practice is to solve practical problems in life. Talking about spiritual practice apart from life is inevitably an escape from reality. When spiritual practice begins with practical problems, every problem becomes a training ground. As long as you focus on the present moment, cooking, washing dishes, and doing housework are also forms of spiritual practice.

The High Cost of Being Available
Many people believe success depends on having many opportunities, abundant resources, and a wide network. But if you observe those who truly maintain a stable career, you'll find they are doing the opposite—constantly minimizing disturbances.

Becalmed
Introduction I'm in another of those periods where I am unable to write. It is slightly weird because there are lots of things going through my head but I just don't know how to put the things together. I was thinking of maybe doing a piece on words, or a story with the theme of being becalmed, and the Brian Eno piece came on the player so that may have influenced me, then there are the two current Vocal challenges "Smooth" and "Identity".

Shifting the Gaze
Don't let your entire day's mood be tied to a single worry. Sometimes, you might think a problem is so important that it feels like it will affect your whole day, or even longer. But actually, many of the thoughts that trap you are simply feelings amplified in the present moment.

Sound In Writing
Author's Note: I listened to a lecture series tape from 2024, about using sound in writing. It was from The Writers Workshop at Authors Publish. I had no idea what they were going to talk about, but I found it interesting and decided to pay attention to some of the points that were shared. I have started my beginning attempts on some of it below. It all made sense, but I think it will take a lot of practice to get any of it right, except for the rhyming. I have worked on rhyme for some time now.
