Death Of An Astonishing Legend
I lost a great friend, and poetry icon today, December 7th, when I woke up to the news that he had died. I am still numb from the shock. Apparently he was diagnosed with a brain tumour only eight weeks ago. He was only 65, too young by today's mortality rates to exit this life. He seems to have affected so many people across our diverse society, men and women, Black and White, with his words of wisdom, resistance and desire for basic equality.
