heartbreak
They can break your heart, but they can't break your soul; poetry about lost love that comforts and uplifts.
Five Senses
Can you feel that? It's the melancholy pressure of the wind ripping apart your lungs, like the ruthlessness of my nails digging a grave within your skin,

I sit here in silence, thinking of you. Of the words that you said and the words that you say. Asking to give you my heart once again but you must have forgotten, you threw it away.

You made me weak for you On my knees to pray for you Broken down from the pressure Still held on to my love for you. Through all the bullshit you knew
Mandy CurryPublished 7 years ago in PoetsThief of Love
I have borrowed memories from those who close their eyes when they kiss, stolen the melting substance that unites lovers. I have ripped off the tears of unrequited love from those virgin faces. I have walked on the footprints of those too scared to give life a chance.
Marco GrittiPublished 7 years ago in PoetsDid You Hear Me Break?
I spent last night bleeding words and ways to apologise to you, but I don't think that you want to hear them. I don't know what I am supposed to do with a notebook full of "I'm Sorry's" because poetry is just words and it the reader who makes them art. If you won't read them are they even true? If a heart breaks in forest and no one soul is around to see it shatter, does anyone care at all? Philosophies, soliloquies and tragedies and you and me will never end if you refuse to write with the ending with me. So I will keep bleeding word until my veins run as dry as your tear less eyes, notebook after notebook and I know now that a heart that no one sees break will never fully heal.

It's been nine months and 20 days since you told me it was over. I didn't believe it when it happened at first, but when it settled I didn't move for three days.

Kat CroswellPublished 7 years ago in PoetsHow We Say We Love Each Other
There are many ways to say ‘I love you’ and last night I dreamt that I was saying I loved you through my most favourite of dreams. Dreams about you and I and our tiny bed only designed for one; our tiny bed that can barely fit us both. The dream was so vivid that I can describe every inch of our bed. I can describe in detail the way it creaked and squeaked and the places where the springs held the contours of your body. I could tell you how our blanket, with its frayed edges, folds just like you like it when you tuck it under your chin as you sleep. It is a beautiful dream.

It cuts like a knife, yet it brings me life. There is so much hate and I’m crushed under the weight. It’s so encouraging and nice

Fresh, this is fresh. I feel myself cooling. Cooling down to meet you, Algor. My first love. But I rush into you too fast and it doesn't feel like this can go anywhere as it is.
