Gratitude

Shedding Old Masks
The tradition must go on, And I am the one who must suffer, Tossing and turning endlessly, Just to satisfy the needs of narcissists. I no longer want to play this role; I’ve had enough, it’s time to make things clear, For I won’t waste my life Catering to their sick egos. I have skills, talents, and dreams; I won’t sacrifice a single moment to squander them, Because I’ve worked harder than anyone else To get where I am today. It hurts that no one sees this, That no one recognizes my efforts – Even when I share them openly with so-called friends, They ruthlessly turn into enemies. Strangers show more kindness and understanding; They don’t worry about being affected by their flaws or mine. And I have the luxury of honing my craft Just as I wish, on my own terms, While adapting it to the mainstream. I hope that one day, all of this will matter, Flourished into another Wonderful entity Meaningful not just to me.

He Is Risen
To a Christian, this day of all days Is the greatest day of all days, Because this day is Resurrection Day. Every language and every tongue shall say, One day, to enter Heaven, Jesus Christ is the only way. I fall to my knees, bow my head, and pray.

The Worth of Jesus' Blood
As You ate the last meal with Your friends, Knowing You only had a few hours until Your life would end, You looked to the friend You knew would betray You. You smiled at him, already forgiving Judas for what he was about to do.

The Four in the African Summer
The Four in the African Summer The summer sun beat down, four warriors watched the trees; they could not see what waited there or stirred beneath the leaves.

The faces inside the blue
The faces inside the blue I never asked a face to come, I never drew an eye, I only moved the colours round, And let the picture dry.

They Rose From The Colours
They Rose From The Colours They rose up from the colours, Although I drew no one, They seemed to climb towards the blue, As though their time had come.

When October Holds You
Autumn arrives where tired hearts have been, And whispers, You may lay your burdens down. The leaves release what once they held within,

the sweet nothings of negative space
The sun sets and moon rises opening portals when it gets dark and late. There are many paths possible beyond the imagined gate.

Rhyme Time
Who came screaming into the world today? Who brings us art to view and music to play? Who supports us all, curates challenges,

Christmas Came Early This Year
Christmas Came Early This Year I know it’s only October, Don’t tell me, I know the date, But Christmas knocked upon my door, And I thought, why make it wait?
