Still.

Still - A Poem for Her.

Still, I want you.

Still, my heart quickens,

At smiling eyes and nervous laughter.

At brunette tresses falling over sheepish glances,

Always distant - never giving.

At memories of thoughts now bittersweet,

And hope lost.

How, still, I wonder?

When no lips met, no lovers' words exchanged.

But what joy in heartbreak!

To have loved so,

A love neither found nor lost.

'Still' (A poem of unrequited love) - County Tyrone, Ireland (2022)
