Sleepless Nights
A poem about a sleepless night
A sleepless night
Flocks the mind
Writhing it blind
A futile state
The body can't take.
Tossing and turning
Trying to fall asleep
It's a battle
We can't mend
But try to end.
Slept
A few hours
Maybe two or three
A forceful dizziness
A whizzing brain
A foggy mind
Unbalanced
And bouncy
The sleepless night
Robbed our minds.
The day is doomed
Shattered and corrupt
The sleepless night
Has ruined our plight.
Nightfall arrives
The day is over
Sleepless shatters
Our eyelids
Closing them
Tight.
A sinking
Befalls us
Into
A deep dreaming state.
Sleep has finally
Conquered
Healing the mind
Forcing it to unwind.
