America with the triple k's

Shows reality in different ways

Depending on how dark your shade

Is first class or low end grade

Planted in us since slavery

Workers of house or the fields would be

Complexion based by the basic means

To separate us tear us by the seams

Honestly it's nothing new

I still witness it in a social view

From celebrities who don't have a clue

To family members I don't speak to

Stories from my beautiful mom how she was treated ugly for being dark

Broken pieces from her childhood that are still upon her sharded heart

Then I saw a viral video of a girl who looked so miserable

She was told by her classmate that her dark skin wasn't beautiful.

She broke down in her mother's arms but her head was raised in her visual

Baby you are beautiful queen this world can be so delusional.
