Sitting by herself in the window of the coffee shop
She watches as couples stream by outside.
She longs to be a part of an US
And fears that time has passed her by.
She wonders why she oft gets overlooked
By available and confident suitors
She dreams of the day she meets someone
A man who wants her as much as she wants him.
Ah well, she thinks as she finishes her coffee,
If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.
She leaves the café sadly and fails to notice
The quiet young lad who holds open the door
With stars lighting up his eyes
